This sculpture captures a dramatic moment during the wildebeests’ iconic migration, the frenzied charge as they reach the river’s edge and search desperately for the safest crossing point. In a chaotic rush, the herd collectively plunges into the water, the riverbank giving way beneath their combined weight. Each wildebeest is driven by instinct, determination, and survival, seeking to evade predators lurking nearby and reach the safety of the opposite shore. This tense and powerful scene reflects the extraordinary risks and unyielding spirit of one of nature’s greatest mass migrations.
